SweetnLow is a groove-driven jazz/funk trio from the CT/NY area featuring Mike Mancini on bass, Hans Broecking on drums, and Tom Schmidt on keys.
Built around deep pocket, improvisation, and the classic sound of bass, drums, organ, Rhodes, and synth, SweetnLow blends the feel of an old-school organ trio with the energy of modern groove jazz and funk. The band plays creative instrumental arrangements inspired by artists like Grant Green, Soulive, Medeski Martin & Wood, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Nate Smith, Nicholas Payton, and Sam Fribush.
The music is pocket-first: funky enough to move, open enough to stretch, and rooted in the kind of live interplay that makes every set feel different.
For this Jazz on Main performance, SweetnLow will bring a one-set listening-room show focused on deep grooves, soul-jazz textures, and improvisational arrangements designed for a room where people come to hear musicians play.
