The Cribtet

The Cribtet is a six-piece hard-bop jazz collective focused on original music by the members of the band, with a heavy influence from Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. The group formed in 2024 when four musicians moved into a house together (better known as “The Crib”) and started rehearsing original music. After getting two more musicians involved in the reading sessions, the quartet quickly expanded to a sextet. All of the members originally met through studying music together at the Hartt School’s Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz in Hartford, CT, with the members originating from across the country. 

The band released their debut album “Welcome Home” in July 2025. The album features six original compositions/arrangements by members of the band, and can be found on all streaming platforms. Since their record release, the band has transitioned to a five-piece ensemble, but the vision of the group remains the same. The musicians that comprise The Cribtet include Mae Czuba (Alto Saxophone & Vocals), Patrick Gordon (Bass), Parker "Patootie" Lewis (Trombone), Dan Jantson (Drums), Aidan Slate (Piano), and Gavin Tarling (Tenor Saxophone).
