Hillai Govreen and Nitsan Kolko present an intimate duo that explores the intersection of modern jazz and Brazilian music through lyrical improvisation and rich rhythmic interplay. The project emphasizes melodic storytelling and spontaneous dialogue.
Hillai Govreen, a New York–based clarinetist and saxophonist, brings a warm tone and melodic sensibility. Hillai studied at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and has collaborated with artists such as George Cables, Steve Cardenas, and Eric McPherson. Pianist Nitsan Kolko contributes a sophisticated harmonic approach, blending lyrical sensitivity with a deep connection to Brazilian rhythms and grooves.
Together they perform original compositions alongside creative interpretations of selected Brazilian and South American repertoire, creating an engaging and dynamic performance that connects the intimacy of chamber music with the spontaneity of jazz.
