David Blake is a jazz guitarist and composer based in Brooklyn, originally from Vancouver, Canada. His music is rooted in the post-bop tradition, with room for contemporary composition, free improvisation, and the unexpected connections that happen between musicians.
His recordings include Radio Casual (Cellar Music, 2026), Trio with Drew Gress and Ari Hoenig (Independent, 2023), and Fun House (Cellar Music, 2022).
This group features David's long time trio (a paired down version of the quartet) with Jonas Esser on drums and Warren Louie on bass. These are two of NYCs quickly rising stars, having played with folks like Gilad Hekselman, Chris Potter, Manuel Valera and more.
